  • $0.00

Australian 1923 Half Penny. There is a die crack running up from the 2 in 1923 and from the edge in Georgivs This Coin Shows 6 pearls & centre diamond Although the subject of some controversy, it is likely that the low mintage resulted from the faulty dies used in 1923. Three sets of dies were produced by the Melbourne Mint workshop - one of which was rejected outright, with the other two both faulty. A vast percentage of 1923 Halfpennies bear die-cracks, and it is likely that the dies were used to strike only a limited number of coins in fulfillment of the order of the Commonwealth Government.
